You guys asked for measurements so we got climbed over every inch of the JL Wrangler at the LA Autoshow debut. Here's what our tape measure recorded.

Overall Cargo Space:

Wrangler JL Unlimited cargo volume: 31.7 cubic feet (with rear seats up) (0.2 cu ft more than JK)
Wrangler JL Unlimited cargo volume: 72.4 cubic feet (with rear seats folded) (1.8 cu ft more than JK)

Cargo / Trunk:

Cargo / trunk opening width — 41.5"
Cargo / trunk opening height — 35.75"
Subwoofer to other side of cargo area — 40.25"
Cargo floor to rear cross member/bar — 35.5"
Distance between roll bars (measured from inside of each) — 43.5"
Back of rear seats (bottom) to closed tailgate — 34.5"
Back of front passenger seat (when pulled all the way forward and backrest at halfway) to closed tailgate — 74"

Rear Window:

Top width of rear window frame — 43.25"
Bottom width of rear window frame — 47.5"
Top of tailgate to top of rear window frame — 18.5"

Rear seats:

Rear seat back height — 23"
Rear seat bench width — 49"
Rear seat bench depth — 16.24"

Subwoofer:

Sahara / Rubicon Subwoofer — 10"

* Please note that the above measurements are approximates as they were taken with a tape measure at the pre-production vehicles shown at the LA Auto Show reveal.

Will that sub still be in that location in a Sport JLU without the upgraded audio? Wondering about aftermarket sub placement.

The base sound system has no sub. There would probably be an inch or two extra width between the sides. Most aftermarket subs will take up a lot more room but sound better.

Yeah I'm not worried about room. That's what my Cherokee is for lol. My concern is these two 15in kickers I have. I'm wondering with I be able to squeeze both or settle for 1 and sell the other.

Did you measure the large cargo space under the floor? That's what I'm keenly interested in.

JAY - Typo. First one shouldn't be an Unlimited.

It is the cargo volume for Unlimited. With rear seats up.

I've been in a friend's Sahara JKU with the alpine system and was BLOWN AWAY by the sound. World's difference between that and the base JK system. Lost space is definitely worth it. Plus, it helps drown out the miserable road and wind noise.

C'mon man, we have to DRIVE the thing. What is the height from the drivers seat to the roof sill for entry
and what is the drivers seat headroom. I'm 6'3" and the measurement is critical.

Sorry, I can't say, I just put @JAY 's measurement in metric.

May be @JAY can answer your question.

JLU with seats down is roughly the same area as a twin bed (39x74). Should make it easy to sleep back there.
